Beyond the Rim
In this lesson, you will learn 3 tools to go beyond the rim
Intro: The Grand Canyon is the most visited national park in the country with more foot traffic than any other park. Out of all the visitors that stop by the park, less than 1% of them ever venture beyond the top rim to the trails into the canyon. What is waiting for you on the other side of your comfort zone? God has so much more beyond the surface level Christianity. So few taste and see that the Lord is truly good. There is more to God than you know right now. What would it look like for you to go beyond the rim?
I. Heart of Faith
A. Heb 11:1- We need eyes of faith and heart of faith to believe that God has more of Himself that He wants to reveal to us. God's plans for our lives are not over. He has new assignments and new adventures that He wants to hand out to us. Put on the same attitude that the apostles had in which they pressed toward the mark (Phil 3:19). Don't settle for past victories. Keep pushing for greater levels of faith.
II. Being Still
A. Psalm 46:10- Your rest, your refreshing, and your sanity comes from being still and resting in God's presence. Breathe in His Word, His truth, and His nature. Turn off the cell phones, the laptops, the emails, and the to do lists. Psalm 131;2 Quiet your soul and be still before Him. The restless and weary soul can find awe and restoration in His presence. Don't burn out, keep yourselves fueled and aflame.
III. Divine Desire
A. We need to stir up the hunger and thirst for His Presence in our everyday lives. A true yearning to know Him deeper, and to draw closer to Him. James 4:8- God loves it when we draw near to Him with a sincere heart, not for blessings but simply to know Him more. Recapture the wonder, the curiosity, and the thrill of seeking God with your whole heart.
